Obituary of Shannon Brittany Sekhon

Shannon Brittany Sekhon (Hodgins) passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at the age of 41, surrounded by her loving family. Shannon’s life was defined by her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for those closest to her.

Shannon was the beloved wife of Dee Sekhon and the devoted mother of their three children: Kobe Sekhon, Jasmine Sekhon, and Remi Sekhon, who were her greatest pride and joy. She was a cherished daughter of Douglas Hodgins and his partner Donna, and the late Marion Gibbs Hodgins, with whom she is now reunited in peace.

Shannon will be deeply missed by her brothers, Ben Hodgins and Luke Hodgins, as well as her sisters-in-law, Lisa Hodgins and Pam Stortz.

Additionally, Shannon is lovingly remembered by her mother-in-law, Sukhchain Sekhon, and her brothers-in-law, Prab Sekhon and Sunjot Sekhon. We also take a moment to remember her deceased father-in-law, Manjinder Sekhon.

She was also a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews: Joshua, Gwendolyn, Brayden, Ava and Ayleah, who will always remember her kindness and love. Shannon’s presence brought light and joy to her family and friends, and her memory will forever remain in their hearts.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this time. To honour Shannon’s life and legacy, donations can be made in her memory to the Grand River Cancer Centre, an organization close to her heart. Your generosity will help provide care and support to other families facing challenges.

Shannon’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and resilience. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing her. 

The Funeral Service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation for one hour prior. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener, will immediately follow.
