Obituary of Joyce Yvonne Rooney

Passed away at Grand River Hospital - Freeport Campus in Kitchener on March 13, 2025, at the age of 85.

Loving wife and best friend of Maurice Rooney for 64 years. Devoted mother of Kevin Rooney and Catherine Rocha (John). Cherished grandmother of Brad Rocha (Tara), Justin Rocha (Paulina) and Evan Rocha and great-grandmother of Sylvie.  Also survived by her sister, Leona Phinney. Joyce will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents, Freeman Hebb and Myrtle (nee Faulkner), and by her siblings Louie Hebb, Louise Morris and Willard Hebb. 

Joyce was always cheerful and had a positive outlook on life. She was an avid reader, loved doing her word search puzzles and enjoyed TV game shows. Joyce also had a love for animals. Over the years she joined many activities including bowling, shuffleboard, CWL and the Rosedale Community Committee. Joyce was ever devoted to her family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was always their biggest cheerleader. They will miss her so much.
