Obituary of Kathryn Jean McLeod

McLeod, Kathryn, age 70, passed away on March 30 in Waterloo, Ontario. She is survived by her daughter Meghan (Harrison); her brother Ken; her sister-in-law Janet (McPhedran-McLeod); her nephews Gord, Doug, and Dan; her dog Star; and her cats, Penny and Keats. She was predeceased by her husband Wayne (Harrison) and her parents, Theodore and Verna McLeod.

Kathy was incredibly passionate about animals – dogs in particular, but also horses; many types of birds, from exotic parrots to fowl; koi and goldfish; and even, somewhat reluctantly, cats. She adopted or rescued many of her pets and dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their well-being. Many grateful animals should be waiting for her on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, including her favourite dog, Molly the golden retriever. She was also an incredible gardener who loved nature.

Special thanks to the neighbours who offered Kathy help and companionship in the last few years, especially as she experienced mobility issues that made it more difficult to maintain her property.
