My good friend of 50+ years passed away a few days ago at age 66. RIP Steve "Slam" Towarnycky. I will miss you buddy. I would like to do a little tribute to Slam. He lived a very unconventional life...50 years ago we all smoked dope and drank too many beers in "Slam's Garage" While the rest of us grew up, got married, had kids, careers ect....Slam was still doing the same things right up to his death at 66. Don't be too harsh to judge, he was a really good guy, and every one of us loved him. He was smart, kind, generous and a wonderful friend, if you were lucky enough to be his friend. A brilliant technical mind. He was, for about a decade, a highly prized electrician at Humpty Dumpty Chips in Brampton. He also had his own business, S.N.A.S.S. (Sharp & Natural Audio Sound Systems) a small custom loudspeaker manufacturing business that built some of the best speakers ever! He had, in his garage, a pair of the biggest speakers you've ever seen...took up like half of the garage!! I remember many good times in "Slam's Garage", watching the pirated first episodes of UFC on his huge Satellite dish. Many discussions, many laughs many good times, while we hot knifed hash....his favorite buzz! Though his lifestyle may not have been everyone's cup of tea (he loved his huge mugs of tea), it was uniquely his own, as was his zest for life, and the love of his friends. We will all miss you pal.. Rest in Peace
