Obituary of Marinus Van Esch

October 17, 1934 - October 15, 1934

It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Marinus (Morris) Van Esch on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, just two days shy of his 92nd birthday.  He will be dearly missed by his wife, Martina Van Esch (Schults), 93. His two sons, John (Cathy) and Lenard, and five grandchildren, Erik (deceased 2024), Alex, Jacob, Blair and Adam and six great-grandchildren.

Both Morris and Martina were born in Tilburg, Netherlands. They were married in 1958. That same year, they relocated to Canada to start a new life together.  Together they found a family within the Dutch community in London.

Opa enjoyed spending hours in his garden in Delaware in the years following his retirement from the construction trade.  Delaware was definitely the epitome of his life in Canada.  The “boys” will miss the stories of his life in Holland and the early years of his arrival in Canada. Opa was a true trailblazer.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held with immediate family only.
