Ellen passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at WRHN – Midtown (formerly Grand River Hospital) in Kitchener, Ontario.
Ellen was the beloved wife of her husband, Ed, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years. She is cherished by her children: Diane (John) Timmings, daughter-in-law Marlane Edwards, and Lori Edwards (Stuart). Ellen was a proud grandmother to Emily (Kevin) Bond, Beverly (Ian) MacDonald, Ben Timmings (Teagan), Angela Timmings, Jerrett Edwards (Morgan), Joshua Edwards (Sabrina), Tylea Edwards, Chris Funk, and Stacey Funk. Additionally, she was a loving great-grandmother to Sophie, Isabelle, and Liam Bond; Cameron, Spencer, and Rory MacDonald; and Nicholas Edwards.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Edwards; her son, Ronald Arthur Edwards; her parents, Thomas Samuel Harvey Graham and Ella Hender Graham (née Knight); as well as her brother, Ross Graham, and her sisters, Norma Jean McArthur (née Graham) and Donna Marie Hill (née Graham).
Throughout her life, Ellen worked as a teacher, a homemaker, and as a bookkeeper for the Targosz Family. She was also an active member of the Probus Club and the United Church Women (UCW). She and Ed enjoyed square and round dancing, lawn bowling with the Heritage Greens Lawn Bowling Club, participating in several bridge clubs, and travelling. Ellen was also a long-time member of St. James'-Rosemount United Church in Kitchener.

Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at St. James’-Rosemount United Church, 171 Sherwood Ave, Kitchener, on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 10:30am. The Rev. Chris Fickling will officiate, and a link to the livestreamed service will be available on the funeral home’s website. A Reception will follow in the Church Hall, and interment will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery in Kitchener.
