Obituary of Nancy Forte (nee Bauer)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Forte (nee Bauer) on Friday, November 7, 2025. Born on April 12, 1971, predeceased by her parents James (2025) and Bernice (1997) Bauer, her brother Anthony (1961), and her stepdaughter Cassie (2018).

The honour and joy of Nancy's life was being a loving wife to David Forte for 33 years, devoted Mother to Allie (Justin), Samantha (Erik), Jamie (Charley), and Ryan (Peyton), and adoring Grammy to Leo, Rhys, Lucy, Caleb, Eliza, and Callie. She is survived by her 3 sisters Christine Gasselle (Roger), Therese Bauer, and Rebecca Kosumovic (Ryan), 4 brothers Kim (Barb), Dan (Ann), Ben (Mary Anne), and Joe, and her in-laws Jim Forte, Gary and Marjorie Forte, Brenda and Ralph Schmidt, Jim and Chris Stallard, Joanne Forte, Donny and Lisa Griffin. Caring aunt to many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Nancy touched so many lives, always creating a sense of safety, warmth and belonging in her home and instilling a sense of faith, strength, and humility in those around her. She leaves behind numerous meaningful and lifelong friendships. Nancy will be remembered by her Motherly way of being in the world, her unconditional love, and her fierce loyalty to her family.

The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the incredible team at Princess Margaret for their expertise and care over the past four and a half years.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, November 11^th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with vigil prayers to be spoken at 8:30pm. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen St. E., Waterloo, on Wednesday, November 12^th at 1:00p.m. Interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery, and a reception will follow at the St. Louis RC Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers, it was Nancy’s wish that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, which may be arranged through www.erbgood.com.
