Passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 29, 2025
Survived by his cousins Henry Epp (Erna), Sharon Monteiro (Tony), Suzanne Riddell (Brian), Helene Gawlina (Dave) and their families, and Verna Penner and her son Johnnie.
Predeceased by his parents, Jakob and Neta Penner and his cousin Jacob Epp.
Jacob was born in Michaelsburg, Ukraine on July 27, 1940 and immigrated to Canada after World War II. After he finished his schooling, Jacob entered the workforce, spending many years at Mutual Life until finally ending at Uniroyal Goodrich. In his spare time, Jacob enjoyed photography, whether he was travelling or relaxing at his cottage near Lion’s Head. He was an avid reader of westerns and psychological thrillers. Baptized in 2008, Jacob was a faithful member of W-K United Mennonite Church.
Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Saturday November 22, 2025, from 11:00am to 11:30am. A memorial service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home beginning at 11:30am, with a reception to follow in the Kuntz House.
