Obituary of Doris Eileen Reier (nee Martin)

Passed away on November 16, 2025 at Hospice Waterloo Region at the age of 79.

Best friend and beloved wife of Gord Reier for 56 years. Cherished sister of Loretta Snider and Pauline Gingrich. Sister-in-law of Dianne Bailey (Ted Roberts), Sharon Blom (Brian Skerrett), Keith Reier (Liz), and Marg Tobin. Aunt to Ryan Snider (Liza), Todd Bailey, Theresa Bailey, Kara Bergstrom (Kent), Julia Gingrich (Rebecca Plett), Kristen Gingrich Berg (Bryan), Kristen Falkenburger (Mark), Phil Reier, Brendan Blom (Justine), Tony Blom (Heidi), and Sophie Blom (Will Gollinger).

Predeceased by her parents Henry and Annie Martin, parents-in-law Ken and Eileen Reier, brothers-in-law Murray Snider, Andre Blom, Gary Gingrich, and Jon Tobin.

Doris enjoyed a long career as an elementary school teacher and teacher librarian. After retiring, she joined a local Probus Club and served for one year as its president. She enjoyed travelling to many parts of the world.

Doris expressed her creativity through various hobbies. A favourite hobby was rug hooking. She joined a local rug hooking club, and created a large collection of beautiful hooked rugs.

At Doris’ request, there will be no funeral or visitation. Cremation has taken place.
