Obituary of Sydney Stricker

<h1>Sydney Stricker</h1> 1925 – 2007 Of Lurgan Beach, formerly of Kitchener, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the age of 82. Sydney was born in Belleville ON, lived in a number of communities along Lake Ontario and the Niagara Region before moving to Kitchener in her high school years. She was a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and spent her career as a primary school teacher for the Waterloo Region District School Board retiring from Elizabeth Ziegler school in the early 1970’s. Sydney was a member of the Canadian Federation of University Women, the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron, and the Pine River Boat Club. She enjoyed playing Bridge and travelling. She is deeply missed by Franklin A. Stricker of Kitchener. Sydney is survived by her daughters; Margaret (Gordon) Cale of Point Clark, Holly (David) Ewing of DeWinton AB, and her six grandchildren; Graham, Brad, Sarah, Tiana, Lukas, and Josie. She is also survived by her sister Shirley (Bob) Dolan of California and her brother Peter (Rosemary) Williams of Bancroft. Predeceased by her parents John and Margaret (nee: Thomson) Williams. Friends are invited to share their memories of Sydney with her family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room. Private interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
