<h1>Murray Walpole</h1> 1951 – 2007 It is with great sadness that the family announce the sudden passing of Murray in his sleep at his residence in Washington D.C. on January 16, 2007 at the age of 55. Beloved son of Jean Walpole of Waterloo. Dearly missed by his sisters Margaret Martin (Jim) of Bramalea, Cathy Foley (Tom) of Edmonton Alberta and Ruth Plouffe (Ron) of Waterloo. Fondly missed by his nieces and nephews, Lisa, Andrew, Stephanie, Tommy, Vanessa, Heidi, Sean and Chris. Murray sadly leaves behind seven great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Herbert Walpole in 1983. Born in Paisley, Ontario in 1951, Murray attended Public School in Paisley, Port Elgin and later at W.C.I. and K.C.I in Kitchener-Waterloo. Murray graduated from Fanshaw College, London, Ontario in the Pre-Health Sciences Medical Laboratory Technology Program and Ambulance Emergency Care Program. He received his BA Degree majoring in both Russian Studies and History and was named on the Dean’s list twice at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. Murray firstly settled in Sudbury, Ontario as a paramedic with the Sudbury Ambulance Service. Later he moved to Washington D.C. and secured a position in the Rare Books Division at the Library of Congress, then became a Senior Aquisitions Specialist aquiring books from various European countries on behalf of the library. Murray also participated in cources on language, history and culture at a University in Hungary. Murray will be sadly missed by his colleagues and friends from Sudbury and his extended family at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. Also dearly missed by many friends in Hungary and Romania. Friends are invited to share their memories of Murray with his family during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Wednesday, Januaray 24, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Murray’s life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 25 at 1 p.m. Following the service, friends are invited to join the family in the Funeral Home's Fireside Reception Room for refreshments and a time to visit. Interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo Condolences for the family and donations to the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children or to the Canadian Cancer Society may be arranged through the funeral home, 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com. In living memory of Murray, a tree will be planted through the Trees for Learning program by the funeral home.
