I am deeply saddened by Hugh's passing.I have known .the Hicks family for 40 years but Hugh was always the brother that lived out of town.I met Hugh in 1977 in Montreal. He had given his sister a graduation present of a trip to Montreal. He was a loving, caring and giving man. A lot of fun! Then there was the time I was lost in Montreal with a buddy of mine. Hugh dropped everything, came to find me and even fed us and put us up for the night. This all for a guy that he hardly knew.I know Susan and Gary dearly loved their brother. He will be missed by all who knew him. Although his time on earth has been cut short I hope you can find peace in the knowledge that he loved his family with all his heart and anyone who came to know Hugh loved him. God bless Scott MacKnight

Jack and Sonya extend our condolences to Camy and the families. We had the privilege of knowing and working with Hugh and Camy for almost 20 years in our Family Campers and RVers organization. Hugh was always upbeat, thorough and original in thinking in all that he undertook. Both his working collegues and all his many friends in the camping organization will miss his skill, geniality and dedication.

Like everyone else, we were shocked and extremely saddened to hear of Hugh's passing. We met in what the RV chat room and got to know him as FC.
FC was always so pleasant and easy-going. I loved teasing him about his favorite campgrounds (KOA) and 'made in Canada' products (Hugh was very proud of his Canadian heritage).
We had the pleasure of meeting with FC and Camy several times over the years; a couple of times in Texas and once in Canada (at a KOA, of course).
We've learned of he and Camy's active life with FCRV. As was mentioned he was especially proud of his activities working with the kids... and there's no doubt in my mind he was as well liked by them as he was by us all.
Thanks Hugh, we'll always miss you and will think of you often! And And to his family, Hugh has left a huge hole that only wonderful memories can fill.

Dear Camy & Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Hugh's passing much too early in life. On behalf of all present and former FCRV members in NB I wish to express our condolences to all of Hugh's family & friends.
We pray that God will bless you & your family with many fond memories of happier times to help ease the pain of sadness during these difficult days and give you comfort in the future as you continue on life's journey without your loved one.
Hugh was both a proud family man and a skilled architect and property developer. He was also a dedicated and much appreciated FCRV volunteer always willing to take on new responsibilities whenever the need arose. He will certainly be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
With love, prayers & heartfelt sympathy from all your FCRV Friends in NB,

It is with a sad heart that we have learned, today, of the passing of a dear 20 year plus friend, someone we considered as a son the moment he fell into our lives. We had the chance to visit with Hugh and Kamy at their new home this past few months and spend an afternoon reminiscing. Hugh was not only an architect in life but also in the birth of a few FCRV chapters around us. We had hoped that his positive attitude would permit him to continue his dedication to everything he touched. Our deep friendship continued even after we both moved away from Montreal and it was always a great reunion to get together again at many campout occasions. To Camy, his children and grand babies, and all those who were close to him, we wish to offer our deepest condolences. We will miss him tremendously.

Hugh will be greatly missed by all of us who came to know and love him. Our FCRV family felt the void of his and Camy's absence in Oaklahoma this year as he was so supportive of the teens even after he was no longer National Teen Director. Our personal family has many memories that include him and we are all saddened by his passing.

Dear Camy, Sarah & Gregory and families:
I was so very sorry to hear this news about Hugh! My most sincere condolences to each of you! Although it's been many years since we were neighbours in Kirkland, Andrea would keep me posted on how you were doing through Sarah! I remember when we met unexpectedly one summer in New Brunswick - we were at a water park and were so surprised to see you there as well ... good times! Camy, Sarah & Gregory, may all the wonderful memories you have of Hugh and your dad, help you through this sad time and keep him forever close in your hearts!

So sad that Hugh is gone ... many fond memories from childhood with your family next door to ours, cousins galore in the neighbourhood ... it was a great way to grow up. The only consolation is that we know he was suffering badly, and could not continue on like that. Sending warm loving thoughts and hugs to all the family. Distance prevents me from being there in person, but I'm there in spirit. Love, Sharon
