Obituary of Reta Matthies

Reta died peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Hospice Wellington, Guelph at the age of 92. Reta was born on July 19, 1924 in Kitchener, Ontario. She worked at Mutual Life for 30 + years in the real estate department. Reta and Jack were married on August 4, 1945 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Kitchener where she was confirmed in 1936. Reta and Jack built their own cottage on Muskoka Lake which they enjoyed immensely for more than 48 years. Reta and Jack were world travellers and had been to every continent except Antarctica in their travels. Reta was predeceased by her husband Jack and leaves behind her niece Debora of Calgary and nephew Brian of Waterloo. She will be greatly missed by her friend of 80 years Ruth Tomlinson and her godson Gary Tomlinson. Friends are invited to share their memories of Reta with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Mt.
