Obituary of Christopher Ralph Kerr
It is with sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of Christopher Ralph Kerr on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his home in Torrance at the age of 52.
Loving father of Biata Shadgett (Cam) and proud grandpa of Maverix Mae, his first grandchild, of Parry Sound. Survived by his mother, Judy, and brother, Brian, father-in-law, Peter Shadgett and mother-in-law, Kim.
Predeceased by his father, Earl.
Christopher graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College as a Hardwood Lumber Inspector. He enjoyed the wilderness of Northern Ontario and Muskoka, and could identify and talk about the qualities of every deciduous and coniferous tree in any area.
Before suffering serious back injuries, Christopher was distribution site support and certified installation contractor for Amvic ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) and had his own company, Kerr’s Forest Products and Construction Enterprises. He worked on projects in Northern Ontario and was construction foreman for the first concrete pouring of the Muskoka Wharf Condominiums in Gravenhurst. He proudly built the home for his family using the Amvic ICF forms.
Christopher was a man of many talents. He could rig up some type of a repair for anything broken and was always ready to help his friends with their projects. His greatest joy was seeing and holding his granddaughter for the first time. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service and family gathering will be held. Interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Carizon Family and Community Services or KW Counselling Services would be appreciated and may be arranged by contacting the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
