Obituary of Sean Charles McGuire

Passed away peacefully at Lanark Heights on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the age of 86.

Survived by his loving wife of 65 years Freda, his children Kathy (Mark) Gaskin of Brantford, Marlene (Carl) Sheely of Baton Rouge LA, Michael (Brenda) McGuire of Kitchener, Terry (Shelley) McGuire of Waterloo and Sean McGuire (Robert) of Toronto. Proud grandfather to Kathryn (Melissa), David (Beverly), Ryan (Yvonne), Michael, Tara (Jason), Christopher (Katie), Erin (Andy), Oliver, Brittany, David (Alex), Eden (Ed) and Shayla and great-grandfather to Bennett and Emmett.

Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Kathleen (nee Baker) McGuire, his second mother Mary McDermott, two brothers Bill McGuire and Rev. Terry McGuire and a grandson in infancy.

Sean worked at K-W Office Supply and later for Arrow Shirt Factory. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Aloysius RC Church and St. Louis RC Church as well a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Waterloo Council 5135.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Sean with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  A Knights of Columbus, Waterloo Council Prayer Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen Street East, Waterloo on Tuesday, September 19 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Phil Reilly and Rev. Murray McDermott as Celebrants. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall of the church. Cremation and interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo will take place at a later date.
