Obituary of Douglas Ralph Pfeiffer

Doug passed peacefully on Wednesday October 3, 2018 at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener after a short battle with suspected (multiple) myeloma. He was 64. His beloved daughters, Vanessa and Julia, and his sister, Pam Kent, were with him as he transitioned from this life.

In addition to his daughters and sister, Doug is survived by his step mother, Cindy Somers Pfeiffer. Doug was predeceased by his dearly missed mother, Carole (Soehner 1987) and father Fred Pfeiffer (2008).

Doug will also be remembered by his children's mother, Connie McCreight, and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews of the extended Pfeiffer, Soehner, Somers, Kent, and Rieck families.

To many Doug was known as a former and proud member of the RCMP, a standardbred horseman, mortgage broker, and most recently, legal advocate to friends in need. He had a sharp mind and wicked sense of humor, was always up for fun and pranks, with an infectious smile. Champion of the underdog with a tenacious grasp of the law, right and wrong. May he now rest in peace. His unique spark will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

A special thank you to cousin and officiant, Murray McDermott, whose ongoing support of Doug and 'his girls', particularly during the past month, has been especially helpful. 

Visitation with family will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 12 noon, followed by a service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.
