We just heard of Bills passing and wanted to send our condolences to Joan and family. We have many happy memories of times spent together when the Lobbams were our neighbours at Eugenia lake. Alanna and Victoria enjoyed playing with their grandchildren and Bill and I appreciated Bill and Joan s warm friendship. Hopefully the family can take comfort from the many happy memories they have of Bill. Barb Bill and Alanna Gostick

Remembering Bill and his lovely wife, Joan, and their family - close friends of my parents and my family all the way back to very early University of Waterloo days, when the campus was just a few buildings. So many memories between us all. Creating a campus, creating a university, growing a city, Scottish Country Dancing, skiing and chalets and family holidays ... art, and music, and charity drives. Such an ability and a talent; such a very long life, full, and well lived.

The Kingscott family sends its condolences to the Lobbans. As mentioned in an earlier post by Joan Stoutenburg, our Grandmother was a Lobban and Bill and Joan used to visit our families in the Detroit area. When Taffy and I were married, they drove all night through a huge snow storm from Waterloo to Washington, D.C. to attend. Family ties were very important and we were honored by Bill and Joan's presence. John and Taffy Kingscott

My fond memory of Mr. Bill Lobban stagnates at his last travels in Shanghai, those have been very impressive ones now to me. He was a so true gentleman, knowlegeble, generous, nice and very much considerate. I'm so saddened by this sudden news and couldn't just believe it. May he rest in peace and blessing comfort, he'll be remembered by us all forever.

To Joan and all the Lobban family we send our thoughts and prayers. Bill was a good friend and we shared many happy times in the Valley. He was such a strong life force, it’s hard to believe he has passed. May his memory be for a blessing.

I am also very saddened to lose the Lobban link in our family . I am the granddaughter of Elsie Lobban Watt who traveled to USA about 1919. It was always such a joy when Bill and Joan visited and chronicled our additions into the family charts. We have all been blessed by his efforts in holding onto Scottish heritage. Now with grown children and a few wee grandchildren- I can but remember the brogue of my grandparents and only wish the newer generations had been as fortunate as I. May Bill rest forever peacefully in the Scottish hills he so loved. Joan and Al Stoutenburg, Sandusky, Michigan

One memory would be insufficient to remember Bill. Some people are the glue that binds a family and Bill was one of those for us. The family tree, the many visits he and Joan made to Scotland until only a few years ago, his trip with Malcolm round the NC500 recently. He seemed to love returning to Scotland and his beloved Glasgow. He is the last of a very large network of cousins of the Lobban family where his dad and my granny were part of a family of 13 in Aberdeen. They all did really well in life which is testimony to the good Scottish upbringing. I ‘m sure we won’t lose the contact now that Bill is gone.
