Doris passed away peacefully, at St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the age of 87 years.

 

Beloved wife of Ivan Gascho (2006) for 50 years.  Loving mother of Fay Gascho of Petersburg and her husband Andre Bernier (2017), Jeanette Gascho and her husband Scott Nicoll of Plattsville, and Christine Gascho and her husband Steve Bradley of Kitchener. Proud and loving grandmother of Maya, Myles and Morgan Bernier, Billy Nicoll (Alison), Amy Nicoll (Jose), Ilia Nicoll (Ryan), and Jake Nicoll.  Great-grandmother of Silas Nicoll, Meesha and Paloma Contreras.

 

She is survived by her sister Jeanne Weber of Orillia. Predeceased by her parents Cecil and Mary (Hunsperger) Gingrich of Breslau.

 

Doris served as a pastor and co-pastor at Shantz Mennonite Church from 1986 to 1994.  From 1994 – 1999 she served as Conference Minister of the Mennonite Conference of Eastern Ontario. She has been living at the Court at Laurelwood for the last five years.

 

Cremation will take place on Friday, March 5, 2021.

 

Friends and family are invited to join in a virtual funeral service on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.  Details will be posted on the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home website. 

 

Special thanks to Dr. Levesque (ED), Greta from Spiritual Care, the Patient Experience Team Melissa, Jessica and Tammy, as well as the staff on the 6th floor  COVID ward at St. Mary’s Hospital:  Dr Coyne, and nurses (absolute angels) Suzy Young, Andrea, Sandra, Jen, cousin Gloria, Chantelle, Melanie, Melissa, Tatiana and Andi for their selfless care since February 24.
