Obituary of Renee Elizabeth Ernewein

Renee Elizabeth Ernewein (Kasta)

It is with great sadness that we announce Renee’s peaceful passing early Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the Rotary Hospice in Stratford, surrounded by family and friends, after a long battle with cancer.

Renee is survived by husband Rob (Ernewein), son Weston, daughter Chase, parents Annette and Don Kasta, sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Stuart Soroka. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by uncle Paul DesRosiers, and aunt Jackie and uncle Roy Keane, mother-in-law Brigitte Ernewein, other family members, and her many friends, clients and colleagues. Renee was predeceased by her son Reese.

Renee was a true life force, a vibrant and talented lady whose love of life was obvious to all who came within her orbit.  She lit up a room just by her presence, always with that dazzling smile and a warm greeting to all.  She was beautiful in every sense, and her inner strength fueled the courage, grace and serenity with which she bore her illness.

Renee was a graduate of the University of Waterloo and a member of the College of Registered Massage Therapists.  Her specialist field was Craniosacral treatment and her special talent allowed her to help countless patients over the years.  She will be especially missed by those patients and her many friends and colleagues at Transcend Clinic in Newmarket.

Renee’s other talents included music and sport.  A talented violinist, who played with the KW Symphony Youth Orchestra, she was also a gifted pianist, and, as if those talents weren’t enough, she had a hauntingly beautiful singing voice which graced many a family gathering. Renee was also a formidable foe on the tennis court.

An animal lover, she leaves behind her adorable dog, Millie, and cute little cat, Cobie.  Both brought her great joy.

Renee’s passing leaves a great chasm in the lives of many, but we should be grateful for having been afforded the opportunity to know this wonderful lady. Sadly, in the words of one of her favourite bands: “There’s a Hole in the World Tonight.”

The family is grateful for the wonderful care she received at the Stratford Hospital, the Rotary Hospice in Stratford, and from Dr. Dai and his team in Waterloo.
