Obituary of Marilyn Amy Post

Surrounded by her family, Marilyn passed away at the age of 93, on April 28, 2024.

Cherished mother of Brenda Post, Donna Moss, Laura Butcher, and Linda Wolfe (Jeff); adored Grandmum of Rebecca Moss, Emily Muizelaar (Aaron), Jordan Moss (Leah), Sarah Romanick (Matt), Christopher Wolfe, Amy Dickson (Scott), and Emma Aucoin (Robin). Loved Great-Grandmum to Ava and Parker Moss, Addison and Violet Muizelaar, Maeve Moss, Callie and Mckenzie Romanick. Dear sister of David Clutton (Sandie). David passed away within hours of Marilyn, following his older sister into the presence of God. Aunt Marilyn will always be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Donald Arthur Post, and her parents, Alec and Amy Clutton.

Marilyn’s deep faith shone out to all who knew her. She was a charter member of Glen Acres Baptist Church and had a heart for her church family, particularly the children and seniors.

Marilyn served her community as a volunteer at Grand River Hospital for 47 years and as a board member of YWCA.

She found her greatest joy in her family, spending time together at home, the cottage, camping, travelling and at Casa del Mar. She had a fierce competitive streak which came out when playing games, and she often won.

Marilyn treasured her many long-time friends and the adventures she shared with them throughout the years. She also loved her time with her Book Club, the ‘Symphony Gang’, the Garden Club and the Art Group. She delighted in staying in touch with friends and family through phone calls, cards, and handwritten letters.

Marilyn had many interests and talents. She was a wonderful musician, artist, seamstress and gardener and had the gift of hospitality. She was happiest when people were gathered around her table and was a mother to many.

Marilyn had a lifelong love of learning, starting with her teaching career. Up until the last few weeks, she kept up with the news of the day, loved solving puzzles, and was interested in the activities of her family.
