Obituary of Daniel Robert Ferguson

After a sudden illness, Dan died on October 7, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital. His care there was committed, competent, and compassionate.

Dan had an interesting life, graduating from Waterloo Lutheran (Arts) and Western University (Journalism). His jobs in Stratford, Yellowknife, Fort Qu’Appelle and St. John’s were very fondly remembered by Dan.

He was devoted to his parents, Graham (died 1995) and Betty (died 2011). Recently predeceased by his cherished older brother Roderic (in August 2024) and his dear sister Jane (in January 2023).

His brother Bill (Dianne) will miss him very much. He loved his nieces and nephews: Jamie (Marta) and their children Myles and Erica, Katherine (Sylvain) and their children Alex and Simon, Amy (John) Smith and their child Owen, Heather Ballantyne, and Ted Ballantyne. Dan is also survived by his sister-in-law Fran Ferguson, brother-in-law Ted Ballantyne, and many close friends.
