On October 28th, Tracy Bolden passed away at home with her family by her side. She was embraced with the warm hearts and open arms of her father, Robert [Bob] Bolden (2015), and her grandparents Doreen [Nana] Bolton (2018), Wallace [Bud] Bolton (1972), Alice Bolden (2005), and William Bolden (1982).

Born on January 27th, 1975, at Grand River Hospital in Waterloo, Ontario, Tracy was the beloved daughter of Beverley and Bob Bolden, and a loving sister to Shelley and Laurie.

Following her university graduation, Tracy achieved her dream of becoming a teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes, the very school where she had spent her elementary years. Tracy devoted her life to her classroom and cherished each student who passed through her door, remembering every name, face, and the countless stories that she would share with family and friends.

Tracy, alongside Luke Hickson, welcomed three beautiful children into the world: Olivia, and twins: Samuel [Sam] and Jack. Tracy devoted her life to her children. Everything she did was for them. Tracy raised her children to be the best versions of themselves, encouraged them to chase their dreams, and was a radiant beacon of light to each of them in unique ways.

She spent her entire life in Waterloo where lifelong friendships were formed. Tracy’s favourite place was at Carson’s Camp, Sauble Beach, this truly was her happy place since childhood. Where she could be found floating blissfully in the warm waters of Lake Huron. Surrounded by a supportive village of lifelong friends, family, and countless others she touched, Tracy also found joy beyond her loved ones. She was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, adored her pets—Winston, Phoebe, and Sprite—and loved travelling to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches.

In October 2022, Tracy and her husband, Ronald [Ron] Hipwell, celebrated their marriage in a small, intimate ceremony with close family present. Ron became a steadfast partner to Tracy, showing her unconditional love and support through her most challenging days, remaining by her side to the very end. He embraced her children as his own, becoming an unwavering anchor of support for them, and for Tracy’s family in all of life’s hardships.

After her initial cancer diagnosis in May 2023, Tracy faced her illness with the same strength, grace, and determination she brought to every aspect of her life. Even in her battle with cancer, she remained focused on her family and found joy in the little moments, taking life one day at a time. Her courage was an inspiration to everyone around her, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and love in her wake.

Tracy’s love and light will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends. As we gather to celebrate her life, we invite all who knew her to share their memories and stories, through her Facebook page, keeping her spirit alive. We will forever carry her lessons of love, resilience, and joy, honouring her legacy as we move forward together.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday November 6th from 6-9pm and Thursday November 7th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Tracy's memorial will be celebrated on Friday November 8th at 2pm.  Her memorial will be live streamed to those who are unable to attend.

In memory of Tracy, and to help honour her dreams for her children, a go fund me page supports her children during this challenging time. These funds will contribute to a celebration of life, honouring Tracy's unforgettable spirit, and will help provide for her children’s future needs. This includes education, daily living expenses, and the stability she always wanted for them.
