Obituary of Doris Irene Illman

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the age of 87.

 

Doris will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband David Illman, and children Andrea Chiki (Brian), Durelle Colp, Philip Illman (Dianne), and Becky Lay Illman (Michael). Greatly missed by her grandchildren Heidi (Michael), Avery (Tanya), Joel, Evan (Cassie), Austin, Ashley, Danielle (Lorenzo), Christian (Courtney), and Lisa, and great-grandchildren Dominic, Ava, Poppy, Hudson, Athena, Alaia, and Reuben. She is also survived by her brother Brian Duncan and sister Joyce Hanson (Bob).

 

Doris was predeceased by her parents Ewart and Hazel Duncan, grandson Andrew, sisters Velma, Doreen, Leone, Marlene, Alma, and Marge, and her brothers Glen, Colin, and Ross.

 

Born and raised on a farm outside of Listowel, Ontario, Doris graduated as an RN from Woodstock General Hospital in 1959. She worked in obstetrics primarily at St. Mary’s General Hospital. Doris also served as a Sunday School teacher, as a nurse at church camps, and as a pastor’s wife. She loved homemaking, baking pies, quilting, and gardening, and her grandchildren brought her much joy.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room. Interment at Elma Centre Cemetery, 145 Arthur St., Atwood.
