My thoughts and sympathy to Mike's family as you remember and grieve. It was such a privilege and honour to work with Mike at Waterloo Generations and later at Thrift on Kent. His servant heart and dedication to volunteering and helping others was such an encouragement. I also enjoyed our conversations and teasing back and forth. I will remember him fondly. Dear Aunt Rose, dear cousins,
I'm sorry reading the sad news of the passing of Uncle Mike, another confrontation with the unevitable end of earthly human life.
I don't have personal memories of my uncle, but I'm impressed after reading his life story, full of achievements and service for his community. His nice smile is revealing happiness, which is also comforting, having faith in eternal life.
Sharing the mourning in this sad period for all of you, knowing we're all family.
Love from your Belgian cousin, Martin

Glad I have met him, two summers ago, on the familyreunion, it was trouly been to long since his lest visit in the 70 thees in Belgium.. but I m thankfull for that meeting..
He did a lot of hard work during his life, coming from Flanders to Canada.. with his Brother Uncle Gabe.. and aunt Oda..wich is always been special, to think back on those visits.. here.. from the far away uncles and aunts.. my mom treasured so much keeping up the contact with her sisters Rose and Oda.. what felt as we always known your familys just as well even close to us, as our flemisch ones.. what I m throuly thankfull for.
Stay strong, together.. with eachother , may God Bless you, and give strenger, your dad couth celebrate his 95th birthday, wich is a blessing...
Rest in Peace, uncle Michel.. or Mike..
Love cousin Lieve. From Hooglede. Xxx

My sincere condolences to the family of Mike Verhaeghe in his loss I had the pleasure of meeting Mike quite a few times and hearing directly from himself about his love for Creekside church his enjoying welcoming people coming in the door and his making of many baskets a long summers boat ride and the pleasure of eating dinner at the table he had made at Joe and Rebecca’s cottage on Lake Muskoka
My thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this time
